Meet Our Leaders
Apostle Calvin Miller and Pastor Helen Miller are the dynamic, Spirit-led founders of Chosen To Be Transparent (CTBT), dedicated to building Kingdom men and women through Accountability, Stability, Capability, and Ability — leading with unshakable faith and deep compassion for lives transformed by Jesus Christ.
Apostle Calvin Miller — A proud Houstonian from the Sunnyside/Southpark neighborhoods, Apostle Calvin served in the United States Navy for 11 years including six deployments, surviving an explosion in Balad, Iraq that left him 100% disabled. His testimony reflects resilience and God's redeeming power.
As an author, visionary, and powerhouse intercessor, he ministers in high-crime areas, schools, prisons, and homeless districts across Houston. His declaration: "Everything is birthed through prayer."
Pastor Helen Miller — A powerful woman of prayer, wisdom, and grace whose ministry reaches women, families, and communities. Her heart for women's discipleship creates spaces where women grow in their Kingdom identity.
Married 20+ years, Calvin and Helen are proud parents of four — Destiny, Nevaeh, Calvin Jr., and Solomon Josiah.
Pastor Broderick James is a husband, pastor, mentor, and Kingdom leader who is blessed to serve the body of Christ with passion and purpose. Known affectionately as Pastor BJ, he carries a heart for the local church and a bold commitment to seeing people walk in their God-given identity.
Alongside his wife La'Joy James, Pastor BJ leads with integrity, transparency, and genuine love for people — modeling covenant partnership in both marriage and ministry. Together they embody what it means to serve as one, building the Kingdom side by side.
Pastor Broderick James is a gifted communicator and mentor whose ministry extends beyond the four walls of the church. With a growing platform and a heart for authentic discipleship, he pours into men, families, and emerging leaders.
His ministry is marked by transparency, relatability, and a no-compromise approach to the Word of God. His message is consistent: "Walk in purpose. Live with integrity. Lead like Christ."
He and First Lady La'Joy create an atmosphere of love, accountability, and Kingdom excellence everywhere they go.
